ESCLAT SABADELL, AN URBAN AND COMMERCIAL TRANSFORMATION PROJECT

At MUR Arquitectura we have joined forces with the promoter Gesdip, S.A.U. with the aim of revitalising a parcel of land that currently houses four industrial warehouses that have been unused since they were built in 1947 The project is based on the construction of a building for commercial use and parking, located in the Gràcia neighbourhood of Sabadell. The proposal includes the demolition of the existing warehouses and one of the two transformation stations on the plot.

The project stands out for its focus on mobility and sustainability. With main access from Rambla Iberia and main exit to Carrer Pau Clarís, it is planned to widen the latter by two metres to avoid congestion and facilitate the exit of vehicles from the commercial building. This adjustment will be made in accordance with the indications of Sabadell City Council.

The proposed construction includes a basement dedicated to customer parking, connected by two entrance and exit ramps. The ground floor will house pedestrian and vehicular accesses, additional parking, storage and loading bay for commuter trains. The first floor will be the epicentre of the commercial establishment, with a 2,400m2 sales room and storage and service areas.

The integral design of the project, which includes differentiated accesses and specific areas for loading and unloading vehicles, will be executed with high quality materials and will comply with all health and safety regulations in construction.

The building, which aims to maximise its spatial efficiency, will have solar and photovoltaic energy installations. In addition, the building will be carefully integrated into its surroundings, respecting the existing slope. This is how this new Esclat is not only an architectural project, but an integral proposal that seeks to redefine the urban dynamic, encourage community participation and contribute sustainable value to the city of Sabadell. This ambitious project, in line with modern trends in urban development, promises to become a benchmark for the transformation of urban spaces in the city.
