To choose the images that would set the scene for this three-star boutique hotel of 55 rooms on Calle Mallorca in Barcelona, a competition was held in which 80 photographers participated.

In many of our interior design projects we involve artists from different fields, promoting collaborations to develop inclusive projects. The inclusion of the artistic work, especially in hotels, is a common practice and is usually treated independently from the rest of the project and at the end of the work, considering it as a decorative element. At MUR Arquitectura, we proposed to develop this artistic feature dependent on the hotel, its category, the possibilities of its spaces and betting, in this case, on new artists; photography students.

Each floor exhibits the work of one of the winners of the contest in different elements of the hotel: in the room numbers and in the triptych – virtual image (mirror), moving image (tv) and static image (photography) – .
