Fernando was born in Barcelona and educated at the Escola Tècnica Superior  d’Arquitectura de Barcelona obtaining an MA in Architecture in 1983. He then started to work as a professor at the Institut Verge de Montserrat and combined this job with the small architecture studio he co-founded in 1986 for four more years. He got a Master in Real Estate Valuations by the Universitat Politècnica de  Catalunya in 1989 and a Diploma in Executive Management at IESE Business School in 2004.

He is today CEO of Mur Arquitectos Asociados and is active in all of its works across the studios in Barcelona and Madrid. He is particularly keen and committed to the interdisciplinary collaboration of all construction consultants on a given project.

After over 35 years of professional career, he currently leads a team of professionals that combines the accumulated expertise of the office trajectory with new talents that bring a fresh vision. MUR Arquitectura has gathered throughout the years an enthusiastic team of highly qualified, versatile and committed professionals

Miquel became a Director at MUR Arquitectura in 2016. He is responsible for the technical management of projects and construction works (Head of Project and Construction Management).

Technical Architect by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Miquel was number 1 of his year in Spain 1992. After obtaining his title, he did a Postgraduate in Project Management in 1994, also at the UPC.

Since 1987, he combined his University studies with his first Architectural job at the technical office of G56, an Architecture, Engineering and Construction firm. Once graduated, in 1992, he was promoted to head of production in the Construction department of the office where he would later become the Group Manager. Miquel became a Technical Director in 2003.

Miquel has developed his professional career in Catalonia and throughout the Spanish geography, leading projects of very diverse scales and typologies. Since joining the firm, hr has brought valuable technical knowledge and problem solving skills to several of the studio’s most notable projects. His thoroughness and broad understanding and expertise in Architecture and Construction are an inspiration to the youngest in the studio. He is a great support and most valuable reference for the entire team.

After coinciding with Fernando Mur in numerous jobs, Ramon joined MUR Arquitectura’s team in 1992. He currently is Design Director in the firm and has lead projects of various natures and scales: hotels, office headquarters, office spaces, residential and other commercial designs.

Graduated from the Escuela Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona in 1985, Ramón began his professional career as a freelance Architect developing Interior Design projects, temporary Architecture, corporate design projects and housing designs.

Cortés has always been engaged and highly committed to education. He combines his work as a teacher with his professional career and stays at the forefront of the latest trends in Design. He has been a Graphic Design professor at the Escola d’Art i Disseny of Vic, Ephemeral Architecture professor at the Escola d’Art i Disseny Josep Serra i Abella and has taught specialized courses in temporary Architecture at the ETSAB, Elisava and ESAD Pau Gallardo. He has given lectures on Art in Hotels and is also a design consultant for Alis, a seats for convention centers, meeting romos and theatres’ producer. His most recent collaboration: the Hotel Design Postgraduate workshop at the Escola Elisava in Barcelona

Marta is a Partner in MUR Arquitectura since 2020. She is Project Director of assignments from international clients and investors in Spain.

She graduated at the Escuela Superior de Arquitectura in the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (Esarq UIC) in 2011.  Marta spent two years working as a junior Architect in Barcelona and moved to London in 2013 to gain international experience and have the opportunity to work in large-scale firms.

During her time in the UK, Marta worked mainly at KPF (Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates), from Junior to Associate Principal Architect. She was part of international developments and also some notable projects in London such as the Damac Tower (Mixed use tower with a residential development, offices and retail in Vauxhll) or the Bermondsey Masterplan, a mixed use development (BtR, office and retail) of 140,000 sqm. She also worked at John Robertson Architects for a year as a Project Architect where she participated in late project stages and construction phases of London proposals.
